The historic Villa Schocken

Location: Talbiya neighborhood, Jerusalem
Built area: 3,700 square meters
Villa Schocken was designed by Eric Mendelsohn in 1936 as the private residence of Zalman Schocken. Over the years, various additions to the building diminished any trace of its original condition. The plan removes superfluous addition thus revealing the historical building. A new glass box wrapped in a shading element was added as a new wing.
